Added: December 08, 2009

Life is a gift, and it offers us the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility to give something back by becoming more” - Anthony Robbins

Government hospitals medical facilities in the province were given free medicines worth more than P4 million from West Negros University and its sister pharmaceutical company, Veradys as part of its Christmas Project.

WNU- College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences through its Virtually Integrated Teaching Aid Laboratory (VITAL) turned over 5 boxes containing 1, 500 vials of Cefuroxine- Cefuron to Ma. Cheryl Generales, Staff Nurse of Ignacio Lacson Arroyo Sr. Memorial District Hospital in Isabela.

Medicines will benefit other hospitals like Teresita Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City, Sipalay City Health Office, Kaayong Lawas Foundation in Victorias City and EB Magalona Hospital and Murcia Rural Health Unit, among others.

Forty-one boxes will be distributed among these hospitals and WNU hopes to help those typhoid fever patients who have less means to buy such prescriptions. Cefuroxine-Cefuron is also an antibacterial drug prescribed to patients of various infections and wound irrigation.

The donation is a part of the school’s Christmas Project among the many who reaches out to people in the community.* (rrm/aipro)
